Congratulations to Peter Sirr!
Munster Literature Centre has announced the winner of the 2020 Farmgate Café National Poetry Award and we’re delighted to report that it’s The Gravity Wave by Peter Sirr.
This award is given the best book published in English in the previous calendar year, by a poet living in Ireland. (It would have been presented to Peter at the Cork International Poetry Festival in February but, alas, this was one of the first festivals to succumb to our ongoing non-live-event world.)
The award is sponsored by Cork’s famous restaurant The Farmgate Café. The judges this year were UK-based poet and academic Ailbhe Darcy, US-based poet and academic Thomas Dillon Redshaw and Cork-based poet and publisher Billy Ramsell.
