An Fhéile Bheag Filíochta 2019

Among the events this year will be workshops and poetry readings with the main guest-poets Nuala Ní Dhómhnaill and Eiléan Ní Chuilleanáin, a lecture on the poetry of Mícheál Ó Guithín given by Séamus Barra Ó Súilleabháin, a seminar on the future of publishing Irish language poetry with Mícheál Ó Conghaile, Ciara Ní É and Pádraig Ó Snodaigh chaired by Pádraig Mac Fhearghasa and this year’s festival concert, the multi-media show Siar agus Aniar, a co-production of IMRAM and the Royal Irish Academy, based on the Irish language works included in the book Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks, of which Máirín Nic Eoin was Irish Editor. There will also be book launches, open poetry readings, a ‘booley night’ of music, singing and poems, a heritage walk and more.

Most of the events take place in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh itself, but the festival concert will be in the Blasket Centre in Dún Chaoin, and the music and poetry session on Sunday morning will be held in the Nun’s Chapel of An Díseart in Daingean Uí Chúis, with it’s Harry Clarke stained glass windows.
