A plaque of ‘The Crane Bar, Galway‘ by Tom French was unveiled, on Sunday 17th June, as part of The Galway Poetry Trail outside The Crane Bar on Sea Road, Galway.

The plaque is sponsored by Galway City Council and was unveiled on the wall of the pub by writer, Rita Ann Higgins.

The poem is the latest addition to the Galway Poetry Trail, a series of 21 poems and writings that are dotted around the city on a literary trail, each reflective of their locations.

Tom French’s poem was first published in his latest collection, The Last Straw (2018) and is available from our online shop.
