John Montague’s Speech Lessons, has been shortlisted in the Irish Times dlr Poetry Now award 2012. Also shortlisted are Moya Cannon’s Hands (Carcanet Press), Michael Longley’s A Hundred Doors (Cape Poetry), Bernard O’Donoghue’s Farmers Cross (Faber and Faber) and Macdara Woods’s The Cotard Dimension (Dedalus Press).
Judged by James Harpur, Mary Shine Thompson and Gerald Dawe, the €5,000 prize will be be announced in The Irish Times on Saturday 8 September, followed by an award ceremony during the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Mountains to Sea book festival, 4 – 9 September.
