Annemarie Ní Churreáin is the Yeats Society Sligo Poet-in-Residence for 2026-2028
During this residency, she will be taking time to think about Yeats’s magical practice, his friendship with the enigmatic Maud Gonne, and his involvement with the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, the late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century esoteric society devoted to ceremonial magic, mysticism, astrology, Kabbalah and alchemy through a structured initiatory system.

Alvy Carragher is Burren College of Art’s 2026 David Whyte Poet-in-Residence
Established through the generosity of poet David Whyte, the residency provides a month of dedicated time and space for a poet to live and work within the creative community of Burren College of Art.
This award aims to support a poet at any stage of their career by giving them the time, space, and inspiration to develop their work in the unique environment of the Burren, and the creative community of the College. The recipient will have the opportunity to work alongside students and artists-in-residence.
